West Northamptonshire Climate & Nature Partnership (WNCAN)
WHO ARE WE? WNCAN members are all from the West Northamptonshire area, and believe that a broad based 'umbrella group' could help in the face of the threat to our health, well-being, security and prosperity posed by the inevitable and damaging effects of a warming Earth and nature depletion. We are all volunteers.
WHAT WE DO. Our aim is to encourage strong partnerships with and between local residents, community groups, councils, businesses, the farming community, educational and faith organisations, and to help people take actions that both reduce the gas emissions that are causing climate change and develop measures to limit the damage caused by the globally rising temperature. To support this aim, we will:
Share practical information, case studies and resources that support climate and nature action, and highlight West Northamptonshire people, groups and organisations that are already doing this.
Organise online events - from expert-led talks to hands-on support sessions.
Build and maintaining an online resource library for local residents and community groups, Parish and Town Councils.
There is more information about WNCAN and getting involved - either as an individual or an organisation that wants to Partner with us - on the About & Join page

ABOUT THESE WEB PAGES
THIS WEBSITE IS VERY MUCH A 'WORK IN PROGRESS' WHICH WILL BE GRADUALLY FURTHER DEVELOPED.
HOWEVER, EVEN IN ITS CURRENT FORM, IT DOES PROVIDE AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT WNCAN HOPES TO DO, WHO WE ARE, HOW TO JOIN US IF YOU SHARE OUR AIMS, AND HOW TO CONTACT US.
WNCAN's web pages have been produced by a member of the Steering Group, taking information from various sources, and including information, where possible, with some element of a West Northamptonshire perspective. The source websites include those of the UK government, councils, community environmental groups, UK media, writers and campaigning organisations who specialise in environmental and nature-orientated themes. Plus journal articles and books by University academics who have a special interest in the Environment. The links on the web pages are checked from time to time to ensure they are still up to date. But, if any fail, please do let us know.
A website that is being developed as Steering Group volunteers find the time to contribute with....
Information about Climate Change and Nature in Crisis - see 'Challenges' in the main menu above.
Developments in science, technology and elsewhere that could reduce the impact of climate change - see 'Inspiration' in the main menu.
Ideas for what to do personally about the environmental mess human beings and much of nature are in - see 'Ideas for Action' in the main menu.
And, wherever possible, a local West Northamptonshire link or perspective. And if there isn't one and you know of one, then please do let us know.
OUR EDITORIAL GUIDELINES & OPINION
Our Steering Group members are all signed up to WNCAN's aim and plan of action. But, as with any group of individuals, especially when thinking about such large and complex issues as Climate Change and the Crisis in Nature, we are going to have our individual perspectives on many aspects of the political, scientific, social and psychological debates that swirl around environmental issues. Thus, comment, opinion or blog article in these web pages is not necessarily shared by all members of the Steering Group.
